Charlotte, NC (April 6, 2011) – STYLE Media announced today the initial line up of shows for Style Week Charlotte’s first season in the Queen City. Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc Announces New “Music That Heals” Program

Using music to encourage, heal and inspire

CHARLOTTE, NC (March 21, 2011)

Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc. (A4AC) in association with School of Rock Charlotte (www.schoolofrock.com) will hold a mini-concert for the patients, staff and special invited guests at Levine Children’s Hospital on March 23, 2011 This is part of A4AC’s “Music That Heals” quarterly concert series launched in December 2010. This quarter’s performance will highlight the tremendous talents of School of Rock Charlotte’s students, all between the ages of 11 and 18. By volunteering their time, these students show how people of all ages are banding together to raise awareness of Amped 4-A-Cure’s mission—to support cancer research through the universal language of music.

Levine Children’s Hospital is the first site for A4AC’s Music That Heals Concert series and “Music Therapy” initiative. “Music Therapy” provides healthcare facilities with music players pre-loaded with popular music in a variety of genres that can be "checked-out" by patients to enjoy while undergoing their chemotherapy treatment or in the instance they need a musical escape. Although A4AC’s primary mission is to support cancer research through music, the organization’s purpose extends beyond simply raising funds for the research; it is also about providing solace and comfort with music, the universal language that links all humanity.

Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc., School of Rock Charlotte and Levine Children’s Hospital are anticipating a highly entertaining performance, with the ultimate goal being to heal, soothe and inspire. The entire performance will be streamed live via closed-circuit TV so that any children unable to leave their rooms will still enjoy the show. This is the second in a series of Music That Heals concerts to be held quarterly at Levine Children’s Hospital, with the next one scheduled for June 2011.

Charlotte, NC—January 26, 2011 —The Young Gents Mentoring Program officially launched Saturday, January 22 at Community Charter School located at 510 South Torrence Street with a fun filled and informative registration and open house from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Young Gents is a newly formed peer to peer mentoring program whose main goals are to help younger men become themselves by recognizing and promoting wholeness and the role of all men. The organization provides an opportunity for male self-awareness, fellowship, support, joyfulness, play and enhancement of male roles as a friend, son, partner and citizen. The 2011 10-month program will run monthly on Saturday mornings with activities to include round table discussions, field trips, classes and workshops.

Young Gents has collaborated with W.E.A.L.T.H. (We Evolve Around Life Through Him) and M.A.L.E.S (Male Appointed Leaders Embracing Strength) to facilitate the monthly sessions. Young Gents/ W.E.A.L.T.H./M.A.L.E.S are subsidiaries of Kingdom Development, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides services to families, youth and individuals.

Hey everyone,

I’m Dany Eason is the owner of DEPR Communications, Community, & YounGents Mentoring program. I have been working very hard to dedicate my time to the things that matter to me. One of those things is you. I would like to get more involved with more community events and affairs. Is time to highlight those individuals, affair, and events that matter to the hearts, minds, of our community. The one thing that I hear all the time is that there aren’t enough events for a cause, and where are these events at? And how do I get involved? New Beginnings…

It’s the start of a New Day, New Year and a New Life for me. Thoughts come to mind for 2011, The day I stared my new life. I had feared what would ever happened if I decided to make my own ways. Others disagreed with me of having my own. What would mean, what would you do and or sale to public or how would serve the needs to anyone? While what I've to say to all that is; that Timing is everything to a person life of un-sureness. I’ve done everything that life and people have asked of me for many things. And the return is what? I do look for the positives in everything. My good out weights my bad. But being unsure of what you want to do is not too good. Similar to what someone told me, “Delay is Not a Denial”. And it’s true. It’s my fault, Worried what other thought of me and not be confident in me,Only to forget my worth. I know my worth now. So, I say No More. I have learned a lot and looking to learn more. It’s my Dream to go beyond what is in front of me; I know that I can do all things once I put my mind to it. Face it; we all made some money, lost some money and paying back money. That’s not going to get me down from my plan of actions. I’m thankful for all my new followers and friends, and I have burnt a few bridges and I’m sorry, But I have to move on, look ahead with my life now. With that said. I have to listen to God and allow him to speak and give directions to my life and where he sees fit for me to go. I have listen to man for so long, my expectation where to high and huge to carry. So I will drop a few. Breathe…

I no longer scared of what this world thinks of me, because I know that I have God on my side.This is not religion spill. But I acknowledge my father’s awareness of me and what I was doing wrong before 2011. I am making a right path for me.

Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc Announces New “Music That Heals” Program

Using music to encourage, heal and inspire

CHARLOTTE N.C. (December 20, 2010) – Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc (A4AC) announced today its new “Music That Heals” program scheduled to kick off on Thursday December 23 with a private Christmas mini-concert at Levine Children’s Hospital from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. for patients, hospital staff and special invited guests.

Although A4AC’s primary mission is to support cancer research through music, the organization’s purpose extends beyond simply raising funds for the research; it is also about providing solace and comfort with music, the universal language that links all humanity. The Music That Heals program introduces several initiatives to use the soothing power of music to make a difference of all those affected by the disease providing a sense of hope, comfort and encouragement. The first initiative under the auspices of Music That Heals is “Music Therapy” where Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc. will provide healthcare facilities with music players pre-loaded with popular music in a variety of genres that can be "checked-out" by patients to enjoy while undergoing their chemotherapy treatment or in the instance they need a musical escape. A4AC's first site is Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Age-appropriate music will be loaded to each player for the children to enjoy while being treated. Best Buy has partnered with Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc. and generously sponsored the first set of music players for the children.

To celebrate the launch of Music That Heals, A4AC has organized a mini-concert for the enjoyment of the patients at Levine Children’s Hospital. In the spirit of the season, several local musical acts (including a performance by smooth jazz band 5th and York), will perform Christmas songs to encourage holiday cheer. At the end of the performance, representatives from Amped 4-A-Cure, Inc will officially present Levine Children’s Hospital with the music players. This will be the first in a series of Music That Heals concerts to be held quarterly at the hospital. Charlotte, NC—December 7, 2010— Men and women from all over the southeast came to celebrate Worlds AIDS Day 2010 in style by rocking their red pumps and red ties for the 2nd Annual Red Pump/ Red Tie Affair presented by JSW Media Group and The Red Pump Project-Charlotte on Dec. 1 at the Historic Palmer Building (2601 East Seventh Street near Uptown Charlotte) with co-hosts media personality T. Strong (Fox News Charlotte, Paper Dolls Radio, StyleMayvin.com) and legendary Hip Hop artist Special Ed. The evening showcased an extraordinary philanthropic event through an awards ceremony, a cooking demo, live entertainment and a fashion show with some of the top emerging independent designers and boutiques in the southeast region.

The night kicked off with the delicious aroma of fresh food and spices permeated the room as Chef Jay, Executive Chef of Chateau Noir, performed a cooking demo during the VIP reception. Guests later enjoyed heavy hors d’oeuvres from Chateau Noir and desserts which included a “Red Pump” cake prepared by Southern Cake Queen. Smooth jazz and classic R&B by 5th and York electrified the airways as people danced, mixed, mingled and bid during the silent auction. DJ Tequila took over the latter part of the evening spinning the best in soul, contemporary R& B and more. Best selling items in the silent auction included a framed mixed media art piece by Natasha Powell of Edith Grey Designs and one of a kind, custom jewelry by Darrell Roach. One of the most important segments of the evening was the awards ceremony when the 2010 honoree Dee Dee Richardson was given the Red Pump Award for being an outstanding community leader paving the way for HIV/AIDS awareness and education. Richardson serves as the Prevention for Positives Coordinator for Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN) and is formidable AIDS Activist in the Charlotte community. The emotional award ceremony was preceded by incredible spoken word performances by poet Blaqbaree of Respect The Mic Poetry Slam Team and poet/actor Donald Wilson.

The event concluded with a fashion show of talented designers. The designers included: collections of eco-chic line Amendment Clothing (Charlotte, NC); Nationalities Beauty Firm presented one Atlanta-based Fashion Designer and an online fashion boutique: Fashenelle by Shenelle Evans and Crystyles Boutique. Charlotte-based Oomph Boutique featured the latest in chic contemporary women’s wear. The finale showcased the official Red Pump Project t-shirt line styled by Vaiya Rucker. The event will celebrate the accomplishments of the fabulous ladies from Plus Academy CHARLOTTE’s inaugural session in true elegance and style, complete with live performances, a trunk show and an art showcase. The event begins at 2:00 p.m. and is open to the public; however, RSVPs are strongly encouraged.

The Plus Academy CHARLOTTE provides aspiring full-figured models with hands-on experience to kick start their modeling careers and learn the business of modeling from the ground up. A team of 12 top professionals experienced in the plus size modeling market conduct classes and workshops to assist in helping models take their careers to the next level. Tiffany “Tip” Jones, most recognized for her appearance as a finalist on Mo’Nique’s F.A.T. Chance (The Oxygen Network) during its second season, is the Director of Plus Academy CHARLOTTE and facilitates day to day operations at the academy.

Get ready to shop, shop, shop, all in the name of charity!

Charlotte's Day of STYLE is a city-wide shopping initiative that encourages Charlotteans to shop for a cause. For one day Charlotteans turn into socialites and attend the hottest boutique and in-store events to shop, mix, and mingle all in the name of charity.

The event benefits Levine Children's Hospital. The Hospital leads the region in offering more than 30 specialized pediatric services including kidney, liver and heart transplants, blood and marrow transplant, cardiac and cancer care, neurosurgery, rehabilitation service, and the highest designated level of neonatal intensive care.

Boutiques such as Jordanos Men's & Women's Boutique, Fresh Boutique and A Step Back in Time Vintage are the first to be announced as participating locations.

So save the date, gather your friends and get ready for the biggest shopping party in the city.
